How many months does the money you have cover?

Quick lesson1 min read

Coverage is measured against the expenses you would keep paying if your income stopped. Review housing, food, utilities, transport and minimum debt payments.

An example with numbers

If your essential expenses are $1,400 a month and you have $4,200 in accessible savings set aside, you have three months of coverage. If expenses rise to $1,750, the same balance covers 2.4 months.

Try it with your numbers

Enter two scenarios for essential expenses. Choose a coverage target that makes sense for your household and see how much is missing in each case.
