Sensitivity: profit by price and units
Price changes across the columns and unit changes down the rows, applied to the current situation with the cost changes you entered.
How it is calculated
- Profit = (price − variable cost per unit) × units − fixed costs.
- Each change is applied as a percentage of the current situation.
- The sensitivity table combines price changes (columns) and unit changes (rows) with the cost changes you entered.
Assumptions
- Changes do not affect each other: if you raise the price, you decide how much volume drops.
- The same price and variable cost for every unit.
- Profit before tax; amounts exclude sales taxes.
